Applied Science for Education and Community Partners
Using science for the improvement of outcomes
ASEC partners with those who seek to improve the quality of support to children's development and learning, as well as the quality of the communities in which they grow. The mission of ASEC is to blend the methods and knowledge of the research community with applied projects and initiatives for improved outcomes.
ASEC works with universities, strategic consulting firms, and nonprofits on projects at the local, state and national level. Long-standing relationships include those with the Center for Advanced Teaching and Learning at the University of Virginia, The Children's Health Center at the University of Texas, The Loop Center for Social and Emotional Development, Communitas Consulting, the Core Knowledge Foundation, and the Virginia Mentorship Initiaitve (Dr. McGinty is a board member).
